I get it, not everyone likes the same type of activity. So here is one of those "10 questions" tests to try and predict if you will enjoy the course. (The artwork is courtesy of Grandma Gizmo).

  1. I like solving puzzles (1 - hate it, 10 love it)

  2. I like working with my hands (1 - hate it, 10 love it)

  3. I get frustrated easily (1 - yes definitely, 10 - no I'm pretty patient)

  4. I will stop learning the day I die! (1 - hey I stopped years ago, 10 - strongly agree, I love learning!)

  5. I feel proud when I accomplish something. (1 - I just want to get it over with, 10 -- take a picture and show it to the world)

  6. I like to put my own spin on things (1 - I'd rather just duplicate someone else's project, 10 - I like to tweak things to see if I can make it better)

  7. My close vision is horrible, even with glasses (1 - I can't see close at all, 10 - I'm nearsighted, I see best close up)

  8. If I can't get something to work, I give up (1 - true and I usually get angry!, 10 - I just keep trying different things until something works.

  9. I like to search online forums to see how someone else accomplished a task similar to mine (1 - no, I expect things to be laid out for me all the time, 10 - sure, you might find a better way)

  10. It gives me a good feeling to be able to help someone else with a problem that I have solved in the past (1 - no let them solve it themselves, 10 - glad to help)

Add up your score:

90 - 100: You're a natural! If you are not already a maker, then take this course, the world needs you!

80 - 89: Solid match to this course. Be careful, you might become addicted...

70 - 79: You will be making your own gizmos in no time.

60 - 69: You will find the course very enjoyable and can look forward to learning new skills.

50 - 59: Relax and take your time. If something does not work at first, just try again.

40 - 49: Don't give up until you get through the prerequisites and make your first project. You can do it!

30 - 39: Consider finding a partner to work with. Grandparent/grandkid or parent/kid partnerships work great and provide a great bonding experience.

20 - 29: Maybe this hobby is not for you.

10 - 19: Yikes! You OK?
